Bulldog Parents,
Last nights annual meeting has come and gone and with that the 2011 season has come to an end. I would like to thank everyone that showed up for the meeting or voted proxy Monday night. The turnout was good and we heard from a lot of people that care about the direction this organization will take in the coming years. As the meeting progressed I kept writing down the ideas that were talked about, and as the evening progressed I realized that almost all of the ideas come back to one issue, INVOLVEMENT. I heard this from members, current board members, and those running for the board. Involvement, is easy to say and hard to do. It takes time and it takes sacrificing something else you might find more attractive to do. All the great ideas we heard last night will be just that if you don’t get involved. This park has built a foundation over the last two years and is now ready to grow. Park improvements, fancy uniforms, and turf fields are great, but it will take the members to make this park grow. I understand that everyone has different responsibilities and obligations that come before football and cheerleading, but the next time you have a chance to be a board member, coach, assistant coach, volunteer, or just want to come out and ask what you can do to help, please do. Your voice needs to be heard and your help will always be appreciated.
The 2012 board has been elected and the results are as follows:
President Barrett Ware
Vice President of Football Brian Garmon
Vice President of Cheerleading Sheryl Hudson
Director of Football Drew Wade
Director of Cheerleading Becky Iamunno
Treasurer Shelly Roper
Secretary Amanda Pryor
This is a good group of people that have shown they are willing to spend the time it takes to make this park successful. They will need your help, please let them know if you can.
On a personal note, thank you to Caren Meitz and Jim Straub for their time spent on the board over the years, you will be missed. Thank you to Sheryl Hudson, Shelly Roper, Becky Iamunno, and Barrett Ware for their time spent on the board and good luck moving forward with the 2012 board. Most of all, I thank anyone who helped coach a team, held a yard marker, cleaned up a press box, helped give out equipment, cheered on a team, and most importantly made it possible for a child to have fun. I have truly enjoyed the last few years and look forward to seeing you at the park.
Forever grateful,
Coach Steve
